The Falcons are still owed bonuses and allowances from the last Africa Women’s Cup of Nations which they won in Cameroon two weekends ago, and have since been holed up in a hotel in Abuja in protest of their unpaid entitlements by the Nigeria Football Federation.

They have been paid a total sum of N600, 000 each (approximately $1, 900), which is still some way off the $16, 500 due each player for winning the tournament. It was also gathered that the players are also owed bonuses and allowances from the qualifiers leading up to the AWCON.

Meanwhile, the NFF and the sports ministry have made several promises to offset the bills, but they have yet to do much, prompting the team to continue their protest in Abuja.
